Volvo Group Trucks Technology – we call it GTT – is a division within the Volvo Group with nearly 11,000 brilliant colleagues around the globe. At GTT, we develop all the technology for Volvo Group’s trucks. We are on a transformation journey, with the clear direction to provide fossil-free, safe, and even more productive products and solutions.

GTT’s legal and compliance function consists of eleven colleagues, located in Sweden, US and France. We’re also part of Volvo Group’s legal and compliance function, including nearly 200 lawyers around the world.

Interesting, right? You’re lucky because we are looking for a Legal Counsel to join the legal and compliance team at GTT in Gothenburg. 

Who are we looking for? 

With this role we are expanding our team to pave new ground in our ways of working. A key part of the role will be to drive the legal and compliance team’s transformation journey. We want you to secure the implementation of new tools and challenge our current way of working! A portion of your working time will therefore be dedicated to legal operations.

In addition, you will manage legal issues primarily related to digital assets, with a focus on data compliance and open-source software. You would also be involved in supporting our compliance counsel in various compliance matters.

We believe that engagement, personality and genuine interest are more important than seniority. To be successful in this role you need to have a university degree in law and several years of experience (either from a law firm, as an in-house Legal Counsel, or similar). Fluency in English is also essential.    

We will keep an extra eye out for candidates which: 

• Are tech savvy and interested in IT tools.
• Have experience working within the practical implementation of GDPR, the Data Act, AI Act as well as other compliance matters. 
• Are familiar with Open-Source licenses.  
• Apply a proactive-, positive-, and can-do mindset and combine it with high integrity. 
• Bring experience from the automotive, software, and/or similar technology-centric sectors.
